STAINLESS STEEL VACUUM-JACKETED PIPING AND COMPONENTS
Specialty Fitters, Inc. designs, build and install process piping
systems featuring stainless steel vacuum-jacketed piping (rigid and flexible
hose), valves and other components for the economical and efficient transfer
of cryogenic liquids to your process equipment.
VACUUM-JACKETED PIPING ENSURES LOW-LOSS, RELIABLE
CRYOGENIC LIQUID TRANSFER
Vacuum-jacketed piping technology utilizes double-walled construction, with
a stainless steel inner pipe for liquid flow, along with a concentric outer
pipe (the "jacket"). The space between the pipes is vacuum evacuated, providing
superior insulation capabilities. This allows for low thermal transfer,
resulting in minimal product losses and maximum service life. Vacuum-jacketed
systems are more expensive initially, but offer substantial long-term savings
due to lower maintenance and gas supply costs.
Vacuum-jacketed piping is available in pre-fabricated sections that are easily
installed on-site using bayonet-style connections and/or welding. Installation
is also simplified due to the ability to use standard pipe hangers on the outer
jacket of the piping sections. Vacuum insulated piping systems require minimal
maintainance and provide maximum efficiency for cryogenic liquid transfer.
VACUUM-JACKETED PIPING OUTPERFORMS COPPER FOAM
INSULATED PIPE OVER THE LIFE OF YOUR SYSTEM
For certain applications, foam-insulated copper pipe can be an alternative
to vacuum jacketed piping. These piping systems feature an insulated foam cover
over the copper pipe, topped with an outer shell usually made of plastic.
Thermal transfer rates and product losses are increased with this type of piping,
and the foam-insulation is subject to deterioration over a relatively short period.
It can be cost effective to replace foam-insulated copper gas piping with a more
efficient system featuring stainless steel, vacuum-jacketed pipe.
